Game Overview

Forza Horizon 2 transports gamers to the scorched beaches of southern France and northern Italy, where the combination of walking around a vast open world, spontaneous driver rivalry, and a cloud AI called “Drivatar” leads to a festival-style racing game. The main gameplay revolves around “bucket list challenges”, carefully chosen. These multi-stage missions introduce you to particular cars in unusual conditions, for example, racing a Lamborghini Huracán during a thunderstorm at midnight or drifting a classic Alfa Romeo down a cliffside vineyard switchback. Compared to the original’s fixed wristband system, Horizon 2 changes to “road trip progression”; instead of fast-traveling, you drive to the festival hubs that are far away (Nice, Castelletto, San Giovanni), and each highway drive gives rise to random roadside events such as speed cameras, convoys of rival racers, or hidden barn finds. Your AI ghost now not only learns your cornering, braking, and overtaking habits, but it also races against your friends when you’re offline, earning you credits based on the performance, which is an enhanced “Drivatar” system.

The dynamic weather has become really lively: The rain wets the road surface, making the grip lower in the coastal tunnels, while the heat haze makes the inland lavender fields even more appealing. Online/friend multiplayer “road trip convoys” give you the capacity of up to 12 players to carry on seamlessly from freeroam to organized races without stopping for a loading screen, and the “car horn challenge” is a system to use for starting impromptu drag races.
