Game Overview

In İblis3:Phenomena, a disgraced occult detective who has been transformed into a living blasphemy is the protagonist of the psychological horror game, which explores the depths of a nightmare that is sentient and reality-eroding. A Turkish black mass of the living blasphemy, whose rewriting is based on biometric fear responses of the player, contributes to the blend of psychological horror and asymmetrical puzzle-stealth, which forms the base of the game. The main gameplay is based on “hex-aesthesia”, distinct sensory hallucinations linked to the player’s microphone input, which are, in reality, created by each corridor, altar, or bone-shrine (cough locusts outbreak, breath wall-flesh growth, silence eye closing). Therefore, one is compelled to control one’s own physical responses to move forward.

A “corrupted necronomicon” is your only weapon, which allows you to “etch” sights into recyclable sigils, for example, trace the outline of a talking mouth and then silence guards, copy the door with the cry of a weeping eye to open any lock, reverse the lullaby’s waveform to make the enemies become frozen statues. The three conjoined geometries (Drowning Mosque with its reversing staircases, Screaming Bazaar where sold echoes become weapons, and the Bone Tram network whose passengers are your past saves) together called the “Üçlü Abyss” is the exploration setting that constantly folds into non-Euclidean loops unless you light “anchor candles” made from melted cassette tapes, according to the player.

The game abandons combat in favor of “ritual evasion”: disguised as demons, djinn, or tortured martyrs, each has a unique “taboo phrase” that the player must overhear from the surrounding whispers and then shout it out loud into the mic to banish them; however, mispronouncing the Ottoman Turkish verses results in a “blasphemy cascade” that summons the İblis Aspects who are unkillable and will continue to stalk the player even through the loading screens. “Memory bleeding” is a critical mechanic after each death; the player’s previous run’s corpse is still in the game world, twitching and whispering the solutions the player has discovered, but also attracting predators and gradually corrupting the geometry into more difficult “vengeance variants.” Instead of health, there is a dynamic “faith decay” meter; praying at defaced icons replenishes it, but each prayer also permanently removes one of the player’s notebook sigils, which means making agonizing decisions between safety and usefulness.
