Game Overview

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare took the franchise into space and featured a blockbuster sci-fi campaign. Besides, the multiplayer was characterized by zero-gravity combat, personalized rigs, and spectacular space-ground battles. Play as Captain Reyes, a Tier 1 pilot, who, through a twist of destiny, is given the command of the Retribution against the fanatic Settlement Defense Front. The story intertwines the personal sacrifice of the protagonist and the grand-scale interstellar conflict. Gameplay is a combination of both ground and space combat elements.

You start with boot-on-the-ground firefights in the Martian colonies. Still, soon you find yourself in the cockpit of the Jackal fighter in the middle of a dogfight. Here, you have to master the techniques of throwing your opponent off your trail, shooting at the right moment, and dodging the missiles. The major change from the previous games is the “Combat Rig” system, which does away with the alleviate-a-class system, by introducing six different faction-themed exoskeletons, thus, theoretically allowing a Warfighter to have an all-around balanced assault or a Stryker to have a deployable cover. These modes also come with unique payloads and amaretto, which significantly change the multiplayer game.

Zero-gravity fighting sequences bring a new level to tactics. You float through ships’ broken hulls, use magnetic boots to fix yourself while fighting enemies on a three-dimensional plane, and with the grappling hook, you can either pull yourself to cover or move to the enemy for a shotgun kill. The co-op mode has a story of four eccentric characters traveling to a Spaceland amusement park to play the latest arcade game, Zombies, with the intention of discovering a secret containing unlimited power.
