Game Overview

Call of Duty: WWII brings back the original feel of the series by taking off the futuristic gadgets and jetpacks and portraying in a real, raw way the harshest wars in Europe. Private Ronald “Red” Daniels, a newly enlisted soldier in the 1st Infantry Division, is your character. You will go through the friendship and the fright of war side by side with your squad while fighting the German forces from the coast of Normandy to the very centre of Germany. Besides limited ammo, use of cover during firefights, and a “Health” system that is not regenerative, and you get a bandage instead of healing by yourself, you will also have a medic squadmate that will help you, and you will have to think tactically. The main feature is the “Division” system, which eliminates the usual create-a-class and introduces several military specialisations, Infantry, Airborne, Armoured, Mountain, and Expeditionary, that each come with exclusive weapons, training, and progression paths encouraging varied playstyles.

Besides providing you with ammo, health, and intelligence, your comrades will portray a sense of brotherhood and shared desperation through these features, which, in turn, play a significant part in the character-driven campaign. The multiplayer introduces “War Mode”, a new gameplay mode, where teams of attackers and defenders are engaged in a multi-stage battle across different historically inspired locations. The traditional menu is now replaced by the “Headquarters” social space, which is such an excellent way of connecting with other players, trying out weapons, and opening supply drops in a living, breathing hub.

Co-op mode “Nazi Zombies” is back with a scary, horror-like mode set in the fictional Bavarian village of Mittelburg, comprising intricate Easter eggs and a chilling atmosphere. Originally, this amazing return is one of the first of the series that delivers a realistic, emotionally effective, and truly terrible experience, which not only respects the greatest generation but also shows that, sometimes, the strongest stories are told on the ground.
