Geometry Dash is an action platformer centered on rhythm that boils the genre down to its most basic element: a thrilling, one-button challenge that tests your reflexes, memory, and ability to sync perfectly with a vibrant soundtrack. The mechanics are simple at first glance, but the difficulty is considerable. You get to maneuver a single icon, be it a square, a ship, a ball, or a UFO, across a succession of geometrically abstract, neon-illuminated levels, and your sole command is just one tap or click. One tap makes your playable character leap, alter gravity, or rotate, in accordance with the shape.

The whole level comprises an array of spikes, sawblades, gravity portals, and speed-changing rings that will require you to tune your moves to the rhythm of the tunes. The main gameplay experience consists of a rhythmic and hypnotizing succession of trial and error, learning, and almost spiritual immersion. You will be killed. Regularly.
