Ghost Janitors

Ghost Janitors is a cooperative first-person action-strategy game that puts a new spin on the horror genre. Instead of escaping from ghosts, you are hired to clean up after them. Players become specialized custodians with spectral-grade equipment, not to exorcise spirits, but to handle the supernatural messes they leave behind. The main gameplay loop has you entering haunted places like abandoned schools, cursed hospitals, and derelict mansions to find different types of paranormal residue: ectoplasmic slime, poltergeist-scattered debris, phantom frost, and reality-warping tears. Each mess needs a specific cleaning tool and method, turning every room into a fast-paced puzzle where you manage different hazards. As you scrub, mop, and vacuum, the ghosts stay active and mischievous. They do not attack you directly, but they keep sabotaging your work by turning off lights, moving your equipment, making new messes when you are not looking, and causing jump-scare distractions that lower your sanity meter.

If your sanity gets too low, your vision becomes distorted, and you clean much less effectively. To succeed, your team needs to work closely together. One player can distract the ghost with a "Spectral Decoy," another can deep-clean the area, and a third can watch the ghost's aggression level with a handheld EMF reader. The longer you stay, the more upset the ghost gets, so you have to balance cleaning thoroughly with the risk of a "Poltergeist Outburst" that wipes out your progress in that room. Between jobs, players manage a small paranormal cleanup business. Money from each contract lets you upgrade your equipment, like getting faster vacuums, longer-lasting decoys, or energy drinks that restore sanity.

You can also unlock new gear for your vehicle, such as portable containment units. There is a reputation system: clients pay extra if you leave a place "spotless" with no supernatural traces, but they deduct points for damage or unfinished rooms. As you move up in rank, you unlock tougher areas with new ghost types, like freezing wraiths, flaming specters, and gravity-shifting phantoms. You can also take on special "Gold Rush" contracts where you compete against rival cleanup teams. The main goal is to become the top paranormal cleaning service and show that even ghosts cannot avoid a good deep-clean.
