Subnautica 2 drops gamers into the depths of a bewildering, alien ocean. This is where survival, crafting, diving, and an intriguing story combine to create a huge open-ended underwater world. The core gameplay loop is basically about "ecosystem interaction". You must gather resources in different marine biomes (such as luminous coral forests, abyssal trenches, hydrothermal vents, and ancient ruins), craft tools and advanced habitat modules, and regulate oxygen, health, and hunger while avoiding threats from sea monsters and other hazards. When you scan flora, fauna, and geological features, your "PDA" acquires new logs that gradually reveal both the secrets of the planet and the fate of the research team that disappeared.

With "base building, " you have more flexibility through modular, depth-resistant rooms that can be connected in multiple ways, thus allowing you to create underwater bases, scientific centers, and glass-domed shelters. A "vehicle bay" is where you work on and customize underwater vehicles (a nimble, Seaglide-like scooter, a medium-sized exploration submarine, and a large, customizable deep-sea carrier), all of which feature upgrade slots for enhanced depth capacity, sonar, and defensive equipment.

"Alien ruins" contain environmental challenges that, when solved, will grant you advanced technology, bits of story, and secret blueprints. A "cooking system" provides the means to cook fish and plants to temporarily enhance your attributes. "Permadeath" mode is offered to players who want the most challenging experience.

"Cooperative multiplayer" mode supports up to four players who can join hands to discover, construct, and survive, with pooled resources and a base-building process in full sync. Subnautica 2, with its "self-sustaining habitat" aspect that involves oxygen, filtration, and power units, is a continuation of the original by developing a deeper, scarier, and more beautiful ocean adventure.
